We are powered by people. We’re here to find a cure and improve lives, together.

Story

Both my Mam and sister were diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease at around the age of 60. Mam suffered from the disease for over twenty years before her death in 2004. My sister has now had the disease for 14 years and can no longer enjoy life as she did.

It is a horrible disease and I hope in this small way, it will help those suffering from Parkinson's.

I have never been at all sporty, but decided that on reaching 60 in 2015 , I would train and take part in the Great North Run for the first time.  I started the NHS Couch to 5k in February 2015 once finding I had a place. I ran again in the Great North Run in 2017 for Parkinson’s UK.  This year I decided to try to raise further funds for Parkinson's UK.  This will be my third ever running event (and probably my last)!

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
