Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Linda's JustGiving page.
Linda, mum, had breast cancer in 2007 and during her treatment she was informed about the South East Cancer Help Centre in Purley. They provided support in the form of counselling, workshops and therapies to help her combat the effects of chemotherapy and cancer. She beat cancer the first time round and was forever grateful for all they did for her. She went on to be active in raising money for Cancer Research UK and was a poster girl, literally, on several occasions. Mum continued to support and attend the SECHC on a regular basis so when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer in September 2013 she knew she had a great group of people to support her.
The charitiy made dealing with this terrible disease that little bit easier. Mum found a new lease of life through the activities, friends and support the SECHC provided. She gained great enjoyment ranging from singing in the choir to card and jewellery making, belly dancing and participating in fundraising events. Mum was keen to ensure her friends and families supported other cancer sufferers by not giving flowers in rememberance but donating money to support this small local charity and the fantastic service they provide which is all free to families affected by cancer.
