Having had experience of both my parents living with dementia, I learned how music improved their lives, in particular the music which made up the sound track of their lives. The types of music they loved ranged from World War 2 tunes, hymns, Andy Stewart and lots more! I was therefore delighted years later to hear about Playlist for Life and share my experience by becoming a volunteer presenter
Playlist for Life is a music and dementia charity that helps people living with dementia, their families and carers to create and benefit from playlists. We are raising funds to support the work of Playlist for Life and help provide free resources to more families affected by dementia..
There are more than 90,000 people living with dementia in the UK and many, many families are touched by dementia at some point. There is currently no cure for dementia but over two decades of research shows personalised playlists can help to improve the quality of life of people living with dementia, their families and carers.
