Story
On 25th December 2005 I suffered a left parietal lobe stroke at the age of 38. At the time I never realised that people of such a young age could suffer what is perceived to be an older persons illness.
I was lucky - after 9 months of intensive rehabilitation care I returned to work - and now, 2.5 years on very few people would even realise I had ever had a stroke.
In September 2006 I 'walked' the Lucozade Hydroactive 5km run in Birmingham and raised over £400 for Different Strokes. This year, Sam and I are promising to undertake 10,000 steps for the Stroke Association as part of their Step Up For Stroke 2008 campaign. We plan to do this over the course of a week using the Free Step option on the Wii Fit game. We are hoping to get photographs as we work our way through the 10,000 steps as proof.
