Story
When I (Linda) did the London 100 ride in 2015 I swore to myself that I would never cycle that far again. Everything hurt from top to toe and I bawled my eyes out on the finish line as I couldn't believe my body had actually managed to pedal the whole 100 miles. Yet here I am again....
6 moths ago I joined a small team of six colleagues to organise my company Accenture's Palace to Palace ride in 2016. Since March we have dedicated time every week to recruiting riders so we can jointly raise £100,000 for The Prince's Trust. We're getting seasoned MAMILs alongside people who have never cycled further than a couple of miles to join the ride. My personal responsibility has been to recruit, inspire and support a team of "Games Makers" who work with me to recruit riders in each of our departments.
Through my job in Accenture's Corporate Citizenship team I've had the pleasure of seeing the fantastic work that The Prince's Trust does to support young people who have had a really tough start in life. They help these young people get their mental health under control, motivate them rebuild a broken confidence and family relationships and support them to gain the skills to get a job or even start their own business. So I'm now really happy to peddle the miles for this fantastic cause. A loooong 90 miles to be precise!!!!! And I've even managed to get the hubby to join me in this crazy goal (thank you lovely!) :)
