It will be four years on the 1 st of June that I had a gastric bypass this operation gave me a life, a life that I could only have dreamt of before surgery . Prior to my gastric bypass I could barely walk to the end of my garden , 16 stones lighter ! I now regularly walk 10 miles or so , I am no longer the person trying to hide in the corner , my surgery has given me a love of life ,I no longer sit and watch life , I live it .
I would like to raise funds for wlsinfo, a charity very close to my heart. The charity , my local wlsinfo group and members of wlsinfo across the uk have been a great resource and help through some difficult times , and the help continues to this day .
Many people are very derogatory towards overweight people , the desease of obesity as many complex issues , I know it is very hard for people to understand these complexities , but it certainly isn't as easy as cutting out various foods and going on diets like many people who have never had a weight problem seem to think , if it was that easy there would be no overweight people , and there would be no need of this charity .
The charity helps to set up new groups all over the country , it also runs a website based forum , an invaluable help to many people who are facing surgery or are struggling post surgery . . Please sponsor me in my endevours for this charity , it will help them continue with there good work .
