Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing the BRMB Walkathon this year to raise funds for our famous Birmingham Children's Hospital. I have a personal reason for doing the walk this year as seven years ago this month, we lost our beautiful granddaughter, Lucy, who died at the age of eight weeks following 14 hours of surgery for a heart condition. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedication and skill of the staff and also their kindness and understanding.
Birmingham Children's Hospital is one of the leading teaching centres in this country with international research and development in many areas associated with children's diseases and illnesses, such as various cancers, heart problems and many others. The hospital includes a 20 bed paediatric intensive care unit and is a centre of excellence for the treatment of children with cancer, liver, heart and renal diseases, etc.
