Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Training and clocking the mileage doesn't come easy with a couple of toddlers in tow so we are dipping our mummy feet in the waters with the quarter-option of the London2Brighton Challenge (31 km).
However the event is coming quickly: it's on the 27th May and I have until the 12th May to raise half of my target. 4 weeks for a quarter walk! Even a fiver if you can spare it (don't forget Gift Aid!) makes a difference.
My fundraising effort goes towards my employer the Virtual Doctors, a small local tech charity with a great concept, as simple as an app on a smartphone.
The Virtual Doctor's service, which is entirely funded through the generosity of donors, is linking volunteer doctors in the UK with rural health professionals in rural Africa to help reduce unnecessary referrals to distant hospitals and offer advice for accurate diagnosis for those in need in some of the remotest parts of the world. The service relies on cutting-edge mobile technology - it is an extremely scalable and cost effective way to help.
£200 will pay for a hand-held device and sufficient bandwidth to equip a clinical officer in a Zambian rural health clinic with the technology to receive the Virtual Doctors telemedicine service for a whole year.
All I am asking is that you encourage me to go the distance on the day by taking your own steps to make a small donation in advance on this page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
