Story
For those of you who know me, will know until November last year, I had NEVER ran. In fact , walking was a challenge!
So, what made me want to start running and take part in the Leicester half marathon for this amazing charity?
My journey started with losing a significant amount of weight (4 stone) as it was having quite a few implications on my health, being classed as being morbidly obese and advised that I was at risk of high cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes.
Using Cambridge Weight Plan, I lost the weight successfully and felt so much better, but knew I had to do more to increase benefits to my health. That is when I decided to join a local beginner's running group (the most challenging thing I have done to date... and still is).
I am still at a stage where I haven't achieved running 5K continuously, and am not sure if I could even achieve running 20K by October. But one thing I do know is I am determined to get to the finish line in October and will try my best to run what I can of the 20K. I can't think of a better motivation to achieve this, than doing it for this amazing charity.
Please do take a look at the great work they do locally and support them by sponsoring me.
Many Thanks
Lina
