Story
Dear friends,
This summer I'm riding with Thighs of Steel in solidarity with refugees and displaced people.
"The lines on a map shouldn't decide our the fate of our lives"
"People wouldn't put their children in boats if the land was safer than the water"
"You see security isn't just about being safe from imminent death. It's also about having a future, options, the autonomy to build a life of your choosing" Hassan Akhad, author of Hope not fear
I will be cycling from Thessaloniki to Athens on the final leg of a sponsored 5000km cycle ride that started in Glasgow and ends in Athens. All the money raised goes directly to MASS Action, who distribute money to grassroots projects, that support refugees in sustainable initiatives in the UK, Greece and beyond.
In the final leg we will be cycling around 100km each day, with a daily average of 1100m of incline... Gulp. We leave on 11th September and will finish in Athens on 17th September.
It's always hard asking for money but times are tougher than ever for some people, and any support is greatly appreciated.
This means every penny counts so don't forget to add Gift Aid if you're eligible.
