Story
On Friday the 2nd of December I’ll be sleeping rough on the
streets of Chester to raise money and awareness for Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH). CATH was started in 1972 and is now running into its 50th year.
Homelessness is not just an issue for a day - it is an ongoing problem. There’s an increasing number of people sleeping rough on the streets of Chester and an unknown number sleeping on friends’ sofas or in spare rooms. This may be, because something went wrong in their life, and it could happen to any of us.
I would like to support this organisation by putting myself through one night of sleeping rough to raise money and awareness for the increasing number of rough sleepers currently in the UK. Every donation will go to assist those who have found themselves in this challenging position. CATH is a non-profit organisation, the volunteers try to find out why people have found themselves in this situation, it may be the case, where a relationship has broken down; mental health issues; drug & Alcohol issues or the individual may have just lost their way.
It will be really, cold, probably wet- at least when I’m done at 6:00 AM, I will be able to go to a warm house; have a hot shower and go to sleep in a cozy warm bed. Those who are homeless will not be so fortunate.
PLEASE donate anything you can to help me raise money for this
amazing organisation, so they can help to get more people off the streets and give them a light at the end of their tunnel. Thank you so much for your support, Lily.
