Story
Our mother, Lillian, has been courageously fighting a battle with cancer over the last few years. Mam lost this battle in January 2022.
During this time she was fighting she continued her voluntary work as a volunteer assistant at Christ the King Primary School, as a school governor and assisting Christ the king Church. We couldn’t been more proud of her.
The support given to mam and our family over the years from macmillan has been amazing.
Mam wanted us to do something to fund raise in her memory - to say thank you and to enable other families to have the same fantastic and much needed support.
To do this we are planning on a pilgrimage from our home town in Thornaby to Lourdes in France - this is a special place for our mam as she was able to visit it in recent years and it made such a difference to her.
The twist is we are doing the pilgrimage on bikes! Cycling every bit of the 1050 miles of it.
We need your support to do this, if you can help in any way at all, be it being able to offer a kind donation or maybe you or your business could support us and our support vehicle along the way with equipment and places to rest. Anything you can do to help will be so appreciated.
Our team consists of 8 riders and a 3 strong support team.
Our riders are:
Paul Walker, Mandy Kennedy and Gillian Hoban - Lillian’s children.
Luke Walker and Brooke Hoban - Lillians Grandchildren
Paul Kennedy - Lillians son in law.
