Story
Mike and I are getting married on the 4th May 2018. Just a few days later we are trekking for Marie Curie in Cambodia
We are currently fundraising to help with this wonderful charity who support so many people and families during some difficult times.
We will be planning some fund raising events so we will keep you all posted.
The end of life care Marie Curie provides is funded 50% from charitable funds. Without this, the NHS would struggle to meet the gap and this would be incredibly bad news for patients, and their families. Marie Curie also invest in end of life research, which helps to improve end of life care for patients, their families and their carers. They also add value to local communities through opportunities to volunteer.
We will all die. Marie Curie believe that how we live during our final phase of our life is of universal importance, and they continue to strive to improve the experiences of terminally ill people and their families.
Did you you know?
• £20 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for one hour, in the comfort of their own home
• £180 pays for a Marie Curie Nurse to look after someone with a terminal illness for a full nine-hour shift, in the comfort of their own home
• £435 pays for someone with a terminal illness to stay in a Marie Curie Hospice for 24 hours, so they can receive the hands-on care they need in their final days
