Lilianna and William's Captain Tom 100 Challenge

Captain Tom 100 · 6 April 2021 to 6 May 2021 ·
Having read about Captain Tom in the brilliant book ‘One Hundred Steps’ Lilianna and William were keen to take part in the 100 challenge. Having been for lots of lockdown walks around our local neighbourhood and parks in the last 12 months they have also noticed the amount of litter unfortunately collecting in some places. They had the idea to challenge themselves to pick as much litter as they can between now and what would have been Cpt Tom’s birthday and we encouraging others to join in. They would be delighted if you could make a donation to the Cpt Tom Foundation or get involved yourself with your own litter picks and share your photos with them.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on charities, with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income. At a time when vulnerable members of society need them most, charities have had to cut services, furlough staff and some have even shut down. Captain Tom stepped up to help, taking on his famous walk to support the NHS Covid-19 appeal and inspiring millions to donate to the cause. I will be celebrating the extraordinary spirit of Captain Tom my way and help my chosen charity.
