Story
Dementia is an illness that damages the nerve cells in the brain, stopping messages being sent to and from the brain effectively. This prevents the body from functioning normally and makes everyday life very difficult for people suffering. There are over 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today and it's estimated that by 2021 this will rise to over one million.
As it's a charity close to our hearts, my brother Sacha and I have challenged ourselves to run the London Marathon 2020 with the hope to raise awareness of the illness, its effects and also donations for this amazing charity as they continue to research and give incredible care and support to the people suffering and families effected.
With very little running experience, I’ll be training hard to make it round those 26 miles and hugely appreciate any donations and support.
As the current situation and Covid meant the April date couldn't take place, I'll be taking part in the Virtual London Marathon in October 2020 and the 2021 London Marathon!
Thank you so much.
