We are seven scouts from Lilford District who have been selected to represent our local community at the 22^nd World Scout Jamboree in in July 2011. The World Scout Jamboree happens every four years in a different country and is a worldwide gathering of young people from nearly 200 countries.  It is bigger than the Olympics and the World Cup with over 32,000 young people and adults taking part.

To attend the Jamboree, we need to raise money to cover our travel fares, accommodation, equipment and activities etc.  Included in this amount is sponsorship to help a young person from a less privileged country to participate, so any contributions will not only help locally but will have a wider impact. By supporting us you will be making an investment for the future changing lives and benefiting many young people. We will be taking part in activities to develop many skills including leadership, team building and problem solving.  We will be working with other young people from different countries and cultures and will learn more about the issues of today’s world and how they affect young people of all nations. We will also be acting as ambassadors for, not only the , but for our local community here in the Lilford District.
