Story
This is a time of great anxiety for all of us, but particularly for older people and their loved ones.
Many of our running group 'Life On The Run' were planning to be running marathons, half-marathons, and 10ks this Spring but these events have been cancelled.
We'd like to put our training and energies to good use by doing what we do best to raise money and support Age UK in Ealing.
We're planning to run a 26 hour non-stop relay, starting and beginning in Ealing, from lunchtime on Saturday 25th April.
We'll each be running for an hour in a continuous relay (whilst sticking to social distancing guidelines at handover).
We hope that by 1 pm on Sunday 26th we'll have completed at least 260km over the 26 hours of running and raised at least £2600 for Age UK Ealing.
At this time of national crisis, we're fundraising to support older people in our community. Age UK Ealing provides vital services for older people in the borough and is seeing unprecedented demand for its support.
With the Government recommendations on social distancing, particularly for the over 70s, it is more important than ever that Age UK Ealing continues to support its local community with food supplies, advice and companionship.
'Life On The Run' is an informal running group set up by a group of runners who attend St Paul's Church in Ealing, Ridley Avenue https://stpaulsealing.com/.
