Story
On November 4th this year two of us from Sennen Cove Lifeboat Station (Dan Shannon & Pat Dowling) will be traveling to America to compete in the ING New York Marathon. We are running to raise money towards a new Tamar class lifeboat ‘City of London III’ which will replace our current twenty year old Tyne class vessel. As the name of the new boat suggests the main appeal is being run from London and any money we raise will go directly towards this.
A Tamar class Lifeboat costs in the region of £2.5 million, is 16 metres in length and capable of a speed of up to 25 knots. The lifeboat station at Sennen Cove covers the waters around Lands End and our personal experiences of crewing this lifeboat leave us in no doubt about the importance of having such a vessel in this location.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The appeal will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Please dig deep and give generously for this highly worthwhile cause.
With many thanks Dan & Pat
