Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
The Heath Town Lichgate Memorial in Wolverhampton at the Entrance to Holy Trinity Church was built in honour of 225 heroes of the parish who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1919.
This memorial is in need of major repair to return it to it's former glory. The Parish Church Council of Holy Trinity Church have won a grant to cover about half the cost, but the other half is needed.
The Memorial was originally partly paid for by public subscription, and so it seems a good time to give the people and friends of the Parish an opportunity to donate to it's refurbishment again in honour of the fallen of the Great War.
An Image from the Original Express & Star extract on Monday 21st June 1920 is given in the photo gallery. This gives some background to the Memorial. (For Clarity a retyped extract is also found in the photo gallery)
Please visit the Lichgate to appreciate it's potential as a Grand Memorial in a wonderful rural setting of the large church yard.
As well as Sunday Services, on Saturday Mornings 10.30am - 12.30pm the Church is open as a Place of Welcome and has light refreshments on offer.
Please donate what you can, and Gift Aid if possible, to help bring this memorial back to its Proud and Former Glory.
Thank-you from the Holy Trinity Church Family.
