Story
On 20th July I am taking part in Relay for Life again, only this time as part of the committee instead of as part of a team.
The Candle of Hope ceremony has always been one of my favourite parts of Relay and I consider it an honour to be the Candle of Hope Committee Chair at Ascot.
Relay really is a special event for me that I pretty much fell in love with back in 2016 when I joined Greigs team looking for an outlet for my need to tell cancer to **** off. Not many things would get me regularly donning a tutu and fairy wings in public to raise funds but turns out not taking myself too seriously has its perks!
It's not too late to join us this year if you fancy it check out the event at on our Facebook page or get in touch for more info.
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends and family fundraise for world-leading cancer research. Then, we unite as a collective at a weekend festival to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. Together, we remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrow’s made possible. Together we are beating cancer.
How does the money you raise make a difference?
When you fundraise for Relay For Life, we fund long-term research. And when we fund long-term research, we make more discoveries. Over time, these discoveries make giant strides towards a world where everyone lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.
