Story
Hello! I am taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life, and running the London Marathon 2023 in April for Anthony Nolan.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately need a lifesaving transplant. I have always been amazed by the bravery and generosity of those who are able to donate their stem cells, and I wanted to support the work this charity does and continues to do.
I started running during the first Lockdown in 2020, and since then it has brought me so much joy. It has helped with my mental health more than I can explain. It makes me feel strong, happy and has given me the realisation I truly can do anything I set my mind to. I wanted to take on another challenge after completing the Royal Half Marathon, raising money for Anthony Nolan and loving every. single. minute of it!
1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed with Cancer in our lifetime, and so many of those around me have had their lives affected by it in one form or another. It can be so easy to feel so helpless, not knowing how to help, but taking on this challenge means I can work to raise money for an INCREDIBLE charity who save lives daily.
I want to dedicate this Marathon to the memories of those who are no longer with us after their battle with Cancer. The memories of those I sadly never got to meet and those who impacted my life and also those of the people I love. This run is for you.
Anthony Nolan won’t stop until they save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant. Every penny you donate brings them closer to that day.
Times are tough and money is tight, but please know that every single penny makes a difference and means the world. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and thank you for your support!
I'll be keeping this page updated as I go. Here we go! it's happening!
Keep Smiling and just keep swimming(running)!
