In July 2009 the air ambulance made a journey to assist me after a bike crash, where I shattered my spine. The air ambulance being used instead of an ambulance means I was helped quicker and didn't travel on bumpy roads which could of made my injuries worse. I'll be attempting to do the 300km challenge in September. The same distance as 3 trips (average day for the helicopter) to patients who rely on this amazing lifesaving service. An average of 10km a day. Every little donation goes towards keeping the air ambulance running and saving a life when needed.
