Story
Hi everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On June 19th this year we lost our wonderful Mum and Grandma to cancer. The cancer was not detected until it was at an advanced stage which meant that within a month of diagnosis Mum was moved to St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, Clydebank.
Mum spent her last 3 months in the care of the hospice team and as a way of saying thank you to them for the way they looked after Mum (and us) we are cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh in the Pedal for Scotland challenge on Sunday 9th September.
Aidan "Smudger" Smith (complete with go-faster stick on Bradley Wiggins sideburns) will be leading out a peloton of Emma "Pedalton" Smith, Tracy and me, not to mention about 9,000 others. The route is quite a challenge and would take an average fit cyclist about five hours but with the wind in our favour we would hope to complete by Christmas!!!
Like most charities these days the hospice is facing difficult financial challenges to maintain the services they provide so any donations, big or small, will be greatly appreciated by all concerned.
Here's hoping the weather is kind to us!!!
