Scene & Heard has always been my charitable cause- it was only when I started running, that I realised I was daft enough to run the Marathon for them!

Scene & Heard is a charity not quite like any other- a mentoring project based in Somers Town, London, using volunteer theatre professionals to help kids write plays. Splendid plays, delivering West End standard entertainment to rapt audiences, delivering the kind of confidence boost that can genuinely change a child's self-perception and life chances. Trust me, I've seen it happen!

This has been a hard time for everyone, but for these kids, in particular, it's been a time where both lockdowns and the dreadful impact of the disease itself have been front and centre of their lives. The money you give to this fundraiser will enable Scene & Heard to work intensively with these children, to give them a chance to express their fantastic imaginations and unique life insights. A new chapter. Their moment to shine

For me, it's a chance to turn a long-held ambition into something wonderful. I'm slightly daunted about running the distance (I will, even if I have to crawl), but more daunted still to take on the mantle of fundraising. This is a big deal, for my beloved small charity- and I owe it to those kids to do my absolute best for them.
