Story
My name is Liam Mahoney, from Farnworth in Widnes, Cheshire and I have been a keen amateur cyclist for the past 16 years. Over this time I have taken part in many challenging events and races, but this year will undoubtedly be the hardest physical and mental challenge I will ever face in my lifetime.
I am incredibly proud and honoured that in June 2024, I will be tackling The Tour 21 (Tour de France) on behalf of Cure Leukaemia to help fund the vital research needed to find a cure for this horrible cancer.
Alongside 24 other amateur cyclists, we will complete the full Tour de France route 1 week ahead of the professionals to collectively raise £1 million for Cure Leukaemia. Starting in Tuscany, The Tour 21 will take place from Saturday 22 June - Sunday 14 July and will tackle all 21 gruelling stages and 3,500km of the Tour de France route - the world's most gruelling sporting challenge. The route will see us pass through many different countries, terrains and immense challenges - before finishing in Nice, France.
Every £1 pound you donate in support of this cause, helps Cure Leukaemia fund 15 dedicated research nurses across the UK, helping connect blood cancer patients to potentially life-saving treatment made available through clinical trials.
Please dig deep and give what you can and support this truly incredible challenge and cause 🙏
Thank you.
Liam
