Story
On 8th March 2012, Declan Curran,a beloved father, brother, friend and uncle died from renal cancer after an 18 month fight which he endured with great courage and dignity. Declan was attended by Rose Green from Foyle Hospice, who helped us fulfil Declan's wish to die at home with his family around him. The Foyle Hospice outreach service supports the patient and the family and works closely with other carers like the District Nurse and GP.
Today three generations of Curran Men and Declan's friends completed the Foyle Hospice Male walk/run in his honour. Heading the pack was Declan's dad, Willie Curran, aged 82 years young. Aodhan, Damian and our friend Stephen ran the route- I won't say who won, it's not a competition guys- certainly not a close one!!- but Willie lapped them ;) Charlie got his knees out and his pink on... that's not a look that will catch on!! Note also that Liam got back from hols at approx 3am and reported for duty, tan and all!
Thanks to all who donated and helped us surpass our target for an amazing cause, in honour of an amazing man. It's not too late to add to it, no amount too small!
Thanks, the Curran Men and friends!
