Event: Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2023, on 14 May 2023
The Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon will take place on Sunday 14 May 2023 and has been inspired by former Leeds Rhinos captain, Kevin Sinfield OBE, and his fundraising challenges in recent years in support of his friend and team mate Rob Burrow.

Story

On Sunday 14th May 2023 we will be taking on the enormous challenge of running the Rob Burrow Marathon in Leeds. Our running lineup is as follows: Catherine, Anna, Hannah, Aimee, Brad, Lorna and Alex. All of us have run the Great North Run before and if you asked any of us to turn around and run all the way back to Newcastle again, our answer would have been a firm “no!” Buuuuut we all knew that if there was ever a marathon we had to try and run, it was this one… In 2015 Catherine’s Dad, Rob, lost his battle against MND; a cruel disease that takes away the ability to move, speak and eat and drink. Rob was a huge Leeds Rhinos fan and loved cheering on Rob Burrow from the SouthStand - to have two Robs to run for gives us all the more motivation. The cure for MND is getting ever closer. This has been helped forward hugely by Rob Burrow and the Rugby League Community. We want to raise as much money as possible so that those with MND in Leeds can be treated in the new Rob Burrow Centre for MND, and to hopefully find the much needed cure. We have two options for donating via the links below to either the MND Association or The Rob Burrow Centre for MND Appeal. The first link is for donations to the MNDA and the second link is for donations to Leeds Hospitals Charity for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND We’d love to raise as much money as we can for both of these incredible causes. Please help spur us on to #RunForRob 💙🤍🧡
