We provide free ‘Homes from Home’ to keep families together

Story

At our 20 weeks scan we were told our baby had duodenal atresia (A blockage between the stomach and bowel) and would need surgery at birth at the RVI in Newcastle

When Max was born we had a two week stay at the RVI. The sick childrens trust helped look after us, provide a place to eat and sleep and recover! We would of been lost without them with living an hour away and I want to try and give back to the charity that helped me and my family so much.

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
