Story

Hi - to those of you who don't know me, my name is Lewis.  I am 10 years old and I live in Morecambe.  I love cycling. I am a cub scout in 16th Morecambe and Heysham Cubs.

On Saturday 15th May I cycled 25 miles to raise money for the Scout Groups minibus appeal. We desperately need a new minibus as the one we have is falling to bits! If we don't get a new one, all of us cubs will have to get very good at cycling as we will have to cycle everywhere!! HA HA.

On the day of the cycle challenge I cycled from my house to Morecambe Prom and cycled 4 times the length of the prom (one length being from where the cycle path starts at Heysham to VVV) then home again. We had a great day and the weather was fab.

Thank you to all my friends who came down to the prom on Saturday 15th May to cheer me on and cycle part of the journey with me. I really appreciated it. I would like to say thank you to my Mum and Dad who have been training with me and did the full 25 miles with me and especially to my little sister Abby who is only 7.  She has been fantastic - the cries of 'my legs hurt!' only appearing after about 17 miles!

Thank you so much to all who have sponsored me - I can't believe how generous you have all been.  On the prom on the day of the event, lots of lovely people put their loose change into our collection buckets and we raised another £100 just from this.

We still have a long way to go though to reach our target for the new minibus.  My website will stay open for a month or two, so please if you can, and if you have not donated already, please sponsor me whatever you can. Thank you so much - Lewis.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to 16th Morecambe and Heysham Scouts and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the scout group.
