Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year, I will be running my first Great North Run, in memory of my Grandad, Lionel Brunton.
On the 9th of April 2012 my Grandad sadly passed away aged 75 after an 18 month battle with Motor Neurone Disease. MND is a fatal, rapidly progressing disease that affects the brain and spinal cord, it attacks the nerves that control movement so muscles no longer work. MND can leave people locked in a failing body, unable to move, talk, swallow and eventually breathe.
MND affects up to 5000 adults in the UK at any one time, with six people being diagnosed every day and there is no cure.
Every donation makes a difference to a person living with MND, every pound is spent carefully so that people affected by MND get the help they need, both now and in the future. For example, £10 provides an information pack for a newly diagnosed person with MND and £30 buys an adapted cutlery set to help someone with MND continue to feed themselves.
Any donations will be massively appreciated. Thank you for your support.
