Story
Hello there
On Sunday 4th August 2019, by hook or by crook, I intend to haul my middle-aged (I will be turning 50 later in the year ... gulp), unfit, slightly battered, lycra-clad carcass through the streets of London, out into the Surrey hills and back - cycling 100 miles - in aid of Samaritans.
My wife, Laura, became a listening volunteer for the Samaritans about eighteen months ago, and although I was already broadly aware of the work the charity does, I hadn't fully appreciated just how genuinely life-saving and important it is.
Anything you're able to contribute to this worthy cause would be fantastic. The donations made will provide me with that extra special motivation I most definitely will need to make sure I complete this particular challenge ... and in a respectable time.
Thanks a lot
Lew
