Story
I am cycling 500km (mainly off-road) from Lusaka to Livingston in Zambia this June to support an incredibly impactful construction skills training charity called Build It International.
Build It has been close to my heart since its inception in 2008. They provide crucial construction training and qualifications for disadvantaged young women and men in Zambia whilst constructing new schools and medical clinics in the areas that need them most.
I was lucky enough to visit certain projects in 2010 and witnessed the amazing impact they can have on communities.
Build it International message:
"Too many young people in Zambia are denied access to even the most basic education and training. With every day that passes, more and more of these young people fall through the cracks, destined to never achieve their full potential. We teach young, unemployed people to be builders through our Training into Work programme. Their new skills means they can find work, earn a living and provide for their families. They help us build new classrooms and health facilities, bringing essential services to some of Zambia's most disadvantaged communities."
Any help would be much appreciated and make a real difference to thousands of people in Zambia.
Thanks,
Lewis!
