Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page! The London Marathon is a challenge I am really looking forward to!
From birth I myself have been presented with my own personal challenge. For those of you that know me you may or may not be surprised that I was born deaf in one ear. Growing up I have had to face different challenges as a result of this including bullying and discrimination. I have also had to adapt and learn skills like being able to lip read in some situations; and be able to take snippets of conversation and quickly work out what has been said. Although I am not considered disabled, I would say that it defiantly effects my day to day life.
For this reason, I want to put myself through the pain and run the London Marathon for Disability Rights UK. It is an organisation that is working for equal participation for all. The work they do to help and support some of the most vulnerable in our society is vital. Among many other things, Disability Rights UK will use the money raised to campaign for true independant living and oppotunities for careers - freeing disabled people or people with health conditions from a life of poverty.
Your donation will help ensure that Disability Rights UK can continue to help and support people with health conditions and disabilities in the UK. Please be generous with your donations and once again thank you for your support :)
