Story
Having battled with so many health issues all her life including living with just one kidney for most of it. Our mum had a kidney transplant in January 2013, when Rajiv (her youngest son) donated one of his. All went went and both were recovering extremely well.
However approximately 7 weeks later and very sadly on the morning of Tuesday 26th February 2013, our hearts were broken when we found out that Mum (Linda Anne Ghelani) had passed away in her sleep from Ischemic and Hypertensive heart disease. Totally unexpected, Mum has left a massive hole in everyone's lives whom she touched. She left a legacy of 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who all miss her so much along with many other family and close friends.
As a way of thanks to all the staff at all the Leicester Hospitals that Mum came into contact with during her life, especially during her kidney transplant, Rajiv and I are running the Leicester Half Marathon on Sunday 13th October 2013. Our Mum's and Rajiv's stay during the transplant was made so comfortable by all those involved in their operation and recovery.
So please give whatever you can, no matter how big or small to make a difference in someone else's life that may be suffering from a kidney illness in the memory of our dear and loving Mum – Linda.
