Story

ANNOUNCEMENT June 2019:  we are currently fundraising for a clinical treatment trial of faecal microbiome transplantation (FMT) in ME patients, planned to commence at the Centre of Excellence hub at Norwich Research Park in 2020.

Update here:  http://www.investinme.org/IIMER-Newslet-190603CentreNews.shtml

This JustGiving page is run by Team Let's Do It for ME, patients aiming to help raise awareness of the Invest in ME Research Centre of Excellence for ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and funds for the biomedical research programme, underway since 2013/2014.

The Centre hub is at the new Quadram Institute at world-renowned Norwich Research Park. Other researchers involved are currently based in London, Oxford, Cambridge and other countries.

The focus of the research is on the role of infection and immune system  responses in ME including autoimmunity, starting with the gut and also B-cells.  See research projects at

Here is the video presentation by Professor Simon Carding giving an update on the QI research and info on the planned FMT at the Invest in ME Research Conference May 2019: https://youtu.be/kz8DGxoBEHw

Our current £200k target is half the extra amount needed to fund the QI FMT trial and thank you if you have your own fundraising pages for Invest in ME Research.

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME or ME/CFS).The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff. Overheads are kept to a minimum and all funds raised to go to promoting education of, and funding for biomedical research into, ME. Our efforts are focused on setting up a UK Centre of Excellence for ME which will provide proper examinations, diagnosis and in time treatment(s)/cure(s).
