Story
Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.
I am running the London Marathon for the BHF because it is a charity very close to my heart. When I was 11 my father died from myocarditis which is a viral heart disease, aged 40, very suddenly and if he had been sent to hospital sooner he would have survived. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else or any other families to experience this. I feel it is vital for there to be more research into heart attacks and the symptoms of heart failure.
I feel despite heart attacks being a common cause of fatalities they still happen too regularly and with more awareness about the conditions of the heart and heart disease the more lives can be saved. I feel privileged to run for such a worthy cause and one which I feel so close to; particularly as some of my fondest memories of my father were of him watching and supporting me at sporting events and matches when I was younger.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thank you!
