Story
This winter, thousands of refugees are vulnerable and homesick. And the children are afraid of the night. Because ‘night is horrible’. Night is when there’s nothing to distract you. Night means dreams about things you’ve seen and people you’ve lost. Night means dark.
We wanted to help these children. At Christmas, a time when most of us are happy and home with family, we wanted to show them they’re not alone and help them be a little less afraid of the dark.
So, we’re fighting darkness with light and giving 182 wind-up lights to refugee children. 182 because that’s one from each of us at RY. Wind-up so they’ll never go out. We’ve made these lights magical with a story about captured stars from far away. And we’re working with distribution charities to get them to the children who need them.
This is a time for giving. Let’s give some more light to these children. #letitglow
