Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

As you know this team of people from the Hertfordshire area, are looking to Change their lives and at the same time Change someone else's , and by supporting our fund Raising efforts you will be helping us to do that.

We have chosen to take a sponsored walk in the Himalayas, in the Bhara Pokhari region, on a trek organised by Community Action Treks., for 1 week between the 8th and the 19th October 2009.  This is my fourth trek and for a very good cause so well worth the training, walking and climbing.  As you know trekking in Nepal is not a walk in the park but it is worth it to see how our trek helps the local Nepalese employed by the trekking company Community Action Treks (www.catreks.com) and back home will help the Prince's Trust raise much needed funds this year.  While I am going to return to Nepal again this will be the last time I raise funds this way.  So please give generously.

We fly into Kathmandu on the 9th, and on the next day we go to Phalek Sangu, then set off for a 3 hour trek to Chitta Tilar ( 1110m ). After camping for the night we will trek on the next day for 4-6 hours up to 1,710m , to Phurano Duwar, having enjoyed wonderful views of the Annapurna Himal and the peaks of Manasula as we make our way up the ridge.

The next day is a ridge walk to Bahra Pokhari, this time walking for between 7 and 9 hours !  Day 5 is a shorter trek down the ridge to Chitre Kharka. On Day 6 we will be trekking to Bhul Bhule, taking in views of Machhapuchhare ( Fish Tail Peak ), this is 5.5 hours.

Day 7 we trek to Besi Shar , the roadhead and then back to Kathmandu.  We will have walked about 100km in the high Himalayas within sight of the Annapurna range of mountains.

Day 8 is free in Kathmandu, and on days 9 / 10 we travel home.

I have paid for the costs of the trek myself and so EVERY PENNY (or pound if you are generous to me) I raise through Just Giving will go to the Trust

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prince's Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

If you want me to talk to your company about the value of trekking in Nepal as team building and for company development let me know.  I can arrange treks for you personally or help you arrange charity treks.  email me at lesowen@lesowenasociates.co.uk - thank you for reading this.
