I was asked if I would like to take part in Strictly Learn to Dance this year. I thought about it and decided to give it a go. I've been going to single dance lessons at A Touch of Class for a few months. I've loved every evening. I used to watch Come Dancing when I was quite young and watch Strictly every year. It's exciting and scary at the same time. I've never done any ballroom dancing with a partner before. My mum and dad used to dance. Growing up there was a little cup which my dad won on display. I didn't realise until much later that dad taught dancing but by the time I would have been old enough to learn he had arthritis and couldn't dance so maybe that's where the love of dancing comes from.
First meeting cancelled due to Covid19.
I've got my first sponsorship money!!!! Thanks to my friend Jackie.
Well we've had three lessons so far. I'm dancing with Trevor. I didn't have a partner but I'd received donations so I was a bit worried. I was asked if I would dance with Trevor. I'm just pleased to be able to take part.
I think I'm really lucky as Trevor can dance really well. We seem to be doing well at the dances so far. We are doing the Cha Cha but also have to learn the social foxtrot, the quick step and a surprise dance as well. Loving learning the dances.
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me up to now.
Just posted the photo of Trevor and me with the Glitterball. Fund raising is going really well everyone has been so generous.
The Cha Cha is improving all the time - not got the final routine yet hoping to do that at practice tonight. Practising three times a week at the moment. My dresses arrived on Friday.
