UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2022
Here I am, on nearly the eve of the London Marathon 2022. I've been training for about 3 years, have run over a thousand miles and still I don't feel prepared.
Please support my amazing charity https://www.sportingwellness.org/ which provides free, professional mental healthcare to all elite & performance athletes in the UK, an area close to my heart.
Chuck us a couple of quid if you can and even better TEXT ME A MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGE post midday on Sunday (it'll appear on my watch) if you can. If I'm not bloody minded enough to get round on my own, I can power myself on your positivity!

Thank you for all your support so far, the challenge of training has been much harder than I anticipated.
As you'll probably know, my trot around London won't happen until next year, but the charity still really needs your help - it would be amazing if you could still donate, giving whatever you can so they can support ALL youth representative sports people who are struggling with an anxiety or mental health challenge x x x
50, but not out........
I’m about to hit my half century and thought why not mark the occasion by trying to get a PB in completing 26 miles whilst raising some cash for the brilliant charity, Sportingmindsuk, that offers support for young sports people who have mental health challenges.
I see so many young sports women give everything for their goal of ‘making it’, all too often at the expense of friendships, family time and their own mental health. Working as a netball coach in the performance environment, I see the day to day highs and lows these development sports people go through.
I’m delighted to promote Sportingmindsuk which is the brainchild of Callum Lea, the nephew of my long time netball partner in crime, Jayne Lea.
Pennies or pounds. I’ll take them all 😘
Sportingminds uk was founded in 2019 by teenager, Callum Lea, as a response to the issue that there was no designated mental health support system for young athletes in the U.K.Our goal is to create a network and community in which representative young sports people can be open and honest about their mental health, and have a greater awareness for their peers mental health. This is done through our website, social media channels, ambassadors, partnerships, training and events. We have a team of passionate and dedicated individuals and specialists, who will be providing education around the topic of mental health and its relation to sport, within institutions, organisations and clubs. We will also be providing and funding direct one to one mental health support for young sports people, in association with Bupa HealthcareYour support will go an extremely long way to helping us achieve our goals and spreading positive mental health in sport throughout the UK.
