Story

My story starts at the age of 39 when I was diagnosed with bowel cancer after having an emergency appendectomy they found part of a carcinoid tumour attached to what they had taken away. I was taken into hospital to have a right hemi colectomy which involved  having surgery to remove part of my colon. Four years ago I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and had a total hysterectomy. I feel blessed to still be here and next year will be my 10th year in remission from bowel cancer, so running in the marathon will mean so much more also I will be thinking of my Nan who passed away from bowel cancer and to do it for this amazing charity will be fantastic. I really would appreciate any donation that you could give to this worthy cause.

We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. We’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
