Fire Fighters Charity provides care and support to the UK’s fire family. It helps with any health and wellbeing challenges firefighters, control staff, and everyone working in – or retired from – the UK’s fire services, as well as their families, may face - during and after service

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page

I am running 215 miles across Scotland following the remote but very beautiful Southern Uplands Way.   I completed this challenge last year but not for charity as I wasn’t sure it was something that I would be able to complete.   I am going back this year aware of the challenge that lies ahead and still unsure if I will get to the end so many factors could see me fail a mix of good fortune, determination  and preparation are needed in equal measures.  I will be running for approximately 4 days only stopping for a quick power nap to keep hallucinations at bay - my goal is to finish and ideally beat my time last year of 83 hrs 54 minutes.

4 weeks after finishing and recovering I begin a new chapter in my career as a wholetime fire fighter so I felt it would be apt to raise some funds for their charity while undertaking this challenge.
