Last year I had never done any running, apart from maybe a brief sprint on the rugby pitch more than 10 years ago and the occasional jog to the bar at last orders!

I decided to enter the Chestnut Tree House 10km in  2012 and completed it, going on the complete the Brighton 10km as well.

This year, I wanted to continue to support Chestnut Tree House, it really is a fantastic place and the only childrens hospice in Sussex.

Your sponsorship money really does make a difference and could be spent in the following ways:

£35 will enable a child to experience a magical hour benefiting from a swim in the hydratherapy pool

£157 allows a member of the Community Care Support Team to care for a life-limited child in the child's home, and enable the parents or carers to spend an evening out together

£226 gives a child the chance to visit Chestnut Tree House for the day and enjoy the facilities and a range of activities whilst giving Mum and Dad a break from daily care

£641 allows a child to spend the night at Chestnut Tree House, where they will receive specialist care and syptom management from the nursing team and be able to enjoy the facilities which the hospice offers

£887 will allow a nurse to support a family immediately following bereavement, helping them to plan the funeral and to say thier final goodbyes to their child.
