Story
I was diagnosed in May 2021 with Chronic Myleoid Leukaemia, a rare type of blood cancer that affects the white blood cells and bone marrow.
Then in September 2023 I was diagnosed with another cancer Non—Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer.
Only me can get two cancers … greedy I know.
So I am retired after working in the Fashion Industry for over 30 years and I am a volunteer 2days a week at Colchester Cancer Wellbeing Centre.
Please help me raise as much money for Cancer Research UK and in return I am taking part in 24hour Relay for Life in Colchester on starting on Saturday 20th July for 24hours
Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends and family fundraise for world-leading cancer research. Then, we unite as a collective at a weekend-long festival to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making. Together, we remember loved ones and celebrate the tomorrow’s made possible. Together we are beating cancer. How does the money you raise make a difference? When you fundraise for Relay For Life, we fund long-term research. And when we fund long-term research, we make more discoveries. Over time, these discoveries make giant strides towards a world where everyone lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.
