Story
The challenge was to walk 850, 000 steps in 3 months and I managed it with 5 weeks to spare, thanks in part to pushing a mower for a couple of hours a day through work.
Then, just for a bit of fun, a million steps looked like a further challenge, so I thought 'might as well.'
I did that, then got out the calculator, did a bit of tapping and looked at 1.5 million. It worked out at about 17K a day, but that looked way too much of a challenge.
Well....my little legs only went and did it, with four and a half days to go.
Thank you so much to those of you who have donated and to our whole Walker Wednesday gang of amazing people who every day make this old heart glow with "pride."
I've taken on this Step Up for Denentia challenge as a way to help The Alzheimet Society raise funds-we never know when we will need the support of charities such as this, so if you are able to help by donating please do. And if you're a UK tax player, please tick the Gift Aid box.
This challenge is also bringing me great benefits-getting out walking and enjoying the sights and sounds around me. Take time for yourself everyone, go out and walk. It's good for you!
