Story
Hi all
Today I completed my ride, It was hard work in the rain with head winds but I managed it. There is a massive hill on the A13 called Bread & Cheese Hill, I was fearing this hill for about 2 weeks before but I managed to get up it without getting off or standing up.
Here are the stats-
42.1 miles
3hrs & 2 minutes
top speed 35.2 mph
average speed 13.8
1765 calories burnt
200 g of Fat burnt
Thank you to everyone who donated towards my ride, I would like to make a special mention to all the members of Rochester Cruising Club who donated very generously, Matthew Clarke , David Samiels, Braunston Reprographics, CFL marketing, Street Grafix, Mcmanus head office, my best friends and all the staff at the pubs I manage.
I would also like to thank Paul Heard for getting us lost in Tilbury of all places, and for guiding us safely from Tilbury to Benfleet where we promptlly left him behind on his gay Mountain bike!!! Cheers Paul.
Lastly I would like to thank my Bro (in law) Richard for all his help, encouragement, advice, equipment, sports masarge after the ride, the kick up the bum to help me up Bread and Cheese Hill and for being totally brilliant. Cheers Rich your the best!!!
Target for next year 100 miles
Ill be back!!!!

I have decided to cycle to work for Sport Relief. I am cycling from Rochester in Kent to Leigh On Sea in Essex which is about 45 miles, its going to take about 4 hours and all the energy I've got to do this cycle as I am not as young and fit as I used to be. I have started some training today (Thurs 11th March) which involved cycling 14 miles, this killed my backside but I hope to try and cycle every other day until the event.
