Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am hoping to raise money for the Cardiac Unit at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital  after my low invasive surgery mitral valve repair with Mr Zacharias on the 1st February 2017.I promised him when I returned to fitness that I would like to walk the 82 miles of the Dales Way Walk from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere my home & birth  village for the Cardiac Unit Charity. This I accomplished over 8 days in October, on my own,  the conditions were not ideal the ground being very wet and boggy. Along the way I met  some lovely kind people notably to mention a charming elderly lady Barbara from Hebden Bridge  who had  previously walked the Dales Way in both directions and the Chef Patron of the Kings Head in Kettlewell who both spontaneously contributed to this fund. Thanks must go to  Carol and John for their help and support and of course to my wife Marilyn  who without her love ,help and support this walk would not have been achieved.

I hope you will  contribute the largest amount you can afford to this excellent cause.

In advance my sincerest thanks  Les Gorton
