Fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK
Les was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in Aug 2009. He had a whipples operation and seemed to be recovering well. However a nagging pain in his side turned out to be the Cancer having spread to his rib. The cancer then kept spreading and after a few short painful months Les passed away at home on 17 February 2010.
When Les was given his diagnosis we had no idea just how awful this form of Cancer is. We used the Pancreatic Cancer UK website to help us deal with the diagnosis and the illness itself. The statistics surrounding Pancreatic Cancer are terrible and unfortunately everyone who knew and loved Les is left with an understanding of the tragedy behind those statistics. We want to support Pancreatic Cancer UK so that work can be done to improve these statistics and raise awareness of this terrible form of Cancer.
We hope that the memory of Les will help others.
