Every year, the UK’s Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST) plays a powerful role in the recovery, transformation and personal freedom of wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and veterans. This sporting activity rebuilds their self-confidence and competitive spirit, through snowsport activities. This charitable organisation is run by military and ex-military volunteers. Having the activities such as skiing, snowboarding and Nordic/baithlon, to enhance the recovery of wounded, injured and sick (WIS) personnel, both serving and veteran. It reintroduces the spirit of challenge and competition that they were accustomed to as part of normal military life. At its heart is a performance ethos which provides a competitive winter sports focus for disabled athletes. AFPST's overall aim is to aid the recovery of serving and veteran wounded, injured and sick through medium of performance parasnowsport. Ultimatley, this could feed athletes into para-snowsports GB, with the ultimate goal of participation in the Winter Paralympic Games.

 I would like to give a little back to this wonderful charity, as the fight and willpower these athletes have, inspires me. The everyday challenge of living with these disabilities, whether it is physically or mentally can completely change their life's. This charity gives them a way to escape and build friendships for life. Doing a blindfolded ski will be a huge challenge for myself, as i have no knowledge of this sport. It will be taking me out of my comfort zone completely. I am getting help from Neil Graham, Neil was in the army and has been involved with this charity and helping the athletes to the highest of levels. I will be putting all my trust into Neil as he will be my eyes as i am skiing. He will be communicating to me through an earpiece, as i will be blindfolded. This is a lifetime experience that i will never forget and all the money is for an amazing cause.
