Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Here's the story...
Myself, James and our friend Alan are planning to cycle 500 miles through Spain, from Valladolid to Barcelona over 10 days between 23rd April and and May 3rd 2011.
The whole idea was born of a kind of pact we made to try and be a bit more active and adventurous and wild and crazy before we get too old and uncool.
Whilst this isn't an epic mountain trek or Arctic expedition fraught with danger at every turn, it's still a considerable distance for three regular guys who aren't athletes and probably over-indulge a bit too much. Therefore we are hoping to raise some money whilst doing it.
The charity we have chosen to raise the money for is UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund. As you are probably aware, UNICEF is a great organisation whose aim is to provide for, care for and represent children throughout the world whose lives are blighted by terrible things such as war, famine and disease. These are children who experience things that fortunately most of us never have and will never have to experience. Children who, without the work of UNICEF, would otherwise not have many chances in life, if any at all.
You can read more about UNICEF and the work they do here.
So there you have it!
If you can spare some change to donate then please do. Any amount will help and we would be most grateful for your helping us to help some of the vastly less fortunate kids of the world.
Thanks
Leon, James and Alan
